Is Florida sounding pretty good right now? How about in March? Here’s some information from Julie Compton, the Co-Chair of SleuthFest, scheduled to take place March 1-4 in Orlando:
SleuthFest is sponsored by the Florida Chapter of Mystery Writers of America. Our guests of honor in 2012 are Charlaine Harris and Jeffery Deaver, and our Thursday Spotlight Speaker is Chris Grabenstein. In addition to our jam-packed schedule of panels, demonstrations, luncheons, the SleuthFest 101 Dinner, Readers’ Corner, our short story contest, and our Agents and Editors cocktail party (to name just a few!), attendees also have the option to sign up for Third Degree Thursday, a day devoted to craft-oriented, hands-on workshops. Additionally, our Orlando location this year has allowed us to schedule a few new activities, such as a trip to a gun range and a mystery dinner theatre.
Our hotel, the Royal Plaza, is located in the Walt Disney World© Resort and is within walking distance of restaurants, shopping and entertainment. It’s a great destination location for writers and their families.
More information about the conference is available at www.sleuthfest.com. If you have any questions, let me know and I’ll be happy to answer them.
