September 2025

Daisy Bateman (Stacie Grey) – I will be making several signing-only appearances at Barnes and Noble bookstores this month to support my USA Today bestselling new release, She Didn’t Stand A Chance.

Sunday, September 7, 2 PM: Walnut Creek Barnes and Noble
Saturday, September 27, 1 PM: Los Gatos Barnes and Noble (a new store that is looking for authors eager to hold events!)
Sunday, September 28, 1 PM: San Mateo Barnes and Noble

Dale Berry – At Bouchercon 2025 in New Orleans I will join bestselling authors Hunter Burke, Craig Vlevenger, Chelsea Conradt, J.B. Garner, and moderator Dennis K. Crosby to shed some light (or spread some darkness) on the “Supernatural Elements in Crime Fiction.” Thursday, September 4, 9-9:55 AM, Room: Salon # E.

Cara Black – I’m excited to be heading to Bouchercon and I’ll be on a panel on Sunday at 9:30 AM – “How Far Can We Push the Boundaries of Fiction?”

On September 25 at 7 PM I’’ll be in discussion with Elizabeth George—yes, THE Elizabeth George—with her new book, A Slowly Dying Cause, at Mrs. Dalloway’s Books in Berkeley.

It’s almost a double header with Elizabeth George on September 26 where we’ll also be in discussion at 7 PM at Bookshop West Portal.

The galleys came for Huguette, my historical fiction book set after the Libération in France, which comes out December 2, 2025.

Claire Booth – At Bouchercon, Wednesday, Sept. 3 at noon, I’ll be talking on the panel: “How to Keep Your Series Characters Interesting,” in Rm Galerie 3.

On Friday, Sept. 5, I’ll be hopping tables at Speed Dating from 7:30-9:30 AM and then appearing at the MWA signing table from 10:30-11 AM. And I’ll end it with a bright-and-early panel on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 8 AM: “It’s All About the Story: Deciding What Works and What Doesn’t,” in Rm Galerie 5-6.

Nancy Lynn Jarvis – Book six in my PIP Inc. Mysteries series, What Lucy Heard, came out on August 15. The series is best described as cozy adjacent.

Claire Johnson – The first book in my Fog City Noir series, Fog City, published by Level Best Books, has been nominated for the 2025 Shamus Award for Best First Novel by the Private Eye Writers of America. The winner is to be announced at the opening ceremonies of Bouchercon 2025. In addition, Fog City has been nominated for the 2025 Macavity Award by Mystery Readers International. The winner is to be announced in September.

The second book in the series, City Lights, has just been published by Level Best Books. Maggie Laurent has survived her first year as a P.I. But soon her nest egg of cash from Nick Moore is near zero, and if she doesn’t rustle up some dough, she’s going to have to close the office and return home to her mother’s house. The death of Herman Peters’ fiancée drags her into the world of mediums, taxicab strikes, and labor organizers who are not who they seem.

I will be attending Bouchercon this September. Find me at: (a) Speed Dating on Thursday morning at 7:30 AM in the Carondelet Ballroom; (b) at the MWA table on Saturday from 2:30-3 PM; or (c) at my panel on Saturday, @ 9 AM titled, “Balancing Fact and Fiction in Historical Mysteries and Thrillers” in Salon F.G.H. with Dana King (M), Lou Berney, Diana R. Chambers, Lee Mathew Goldberg, and Boyd Morrison.

James L’Etoile – I will attend Bouchercon in New Orleans, and you can find me:
Wednesday, 9/3, at 1:30 PM on The Art of Misdirection: “Mis-clues, Miscues, and Red Herrings” Panel, and the follow-up author signing at 2:30 PM.
Thursday, 9/4, I’ll be joining Baron Birtcher for Author Speed Dating at 7:30 AM, and on Thursday at 11 AM, I’ll be at the Mystery Writers of America table for signing and chatting.
Friday, 9/5, at noon, join me for the Anthony Award Mixer with all the other nominees.
Saturday at 8:30 PM, wish me luck at the Anthony Awards, where Served Cold is nominated for Best Paperback Original.
On Thursday, September 11, at 6 PM, I will be meeting with the Columbia River Sisters in Crime chapter for a presentation on What Authors Need to Know About What Really Happens in Prison (without the troublesome felony conviction).

Robin Somers – I’ll be giving a reading of Eleven Stolen Horses and a talk at the Scotts Valley Library in Scotts Valley (Santa Cruz County) on Saturday, September 13, from 1-2 PM, followed by a few words on saving wild horses and a sneak peek at Three Marys, my next Wild Horses Mystery, coming out in Spring 2026 (Sibylline Press).

October 4 at the Capitola Library I’ll be speaking about Three Marys, a Wild Horses Mystery, coming in Spring 2026. I’m sharing the spotlight with an amazing panel of authors—Laurie SheehanMichelle Chouinard, and Daisy Bateman (Stacie Grey)

James Tipton – My novel, Black Peter, a Coast Miwoks Journey, that features an historically underrepresented voice, the California Native Americans, was a finalist in Narrative Magazine’s Spring 2025 Contest in the category of Novel Excerpt.

The late author Anne Perry and Victoria Zackheim‘s Death Times Seven, the final novel in the Daniel Pitt series, finished posthumously by Perry’s longtime editor Zackheim from an outline and partial manuscript they worked on together, will be released April 2026.
